King Akimbo (Japan – guitar, bass, noise + computer samples + programming, vocals) lays down those beats with reckless abandon, one might think there’s actual method in the madness but no. He plays every instrument under the sun which makes it hard from him to choose which to play so he will switch depending on his mood. Working full-time with his uncle, renowned ‘godfather of rock photography’ Masayoshi Sukita, Akimbo makes no plans to be on the back end of the lens. He prefers making his lips glow in the dark a radioactive neon orange colour.
Luisa LaChouf (Australia – electric violin, electric taisho koto, vocals), had studied music in The Netherlands where she also established a post-rock band and toured around the Benelux, warbling and playing violin. These days the warble is more garbled and occasionally a bit baby bird squeaky. She has also studied wine, film and likes to combine all into a large melting pot and see what strange concoction is brewed. There’s no real structure there.
Sumo Dada loves collaborations, observations and felicitations.
